What is the difference between a charge card and a credit card?

Diners Club is a charge card, not credit card. This means that there are no established credit limits, nor annual percentage rates applied, as the balance must be paid in full each month.

What are the minimum criteria for applying for a Diners Club Direct account?

  • Minimum spend of £20,000 per year on travel
  • Business has been trading for a minimum of one year
  • Payment must be via monthly direct debit

How can I order foreign currency?

1.Pre-departure ordering with next day mail delivery

Foreign travel cash advances can be arranged prior to departure via Diners Club Customer Service on 0870 1900 011. The amount will be booked directly to your Card. There is a 4% or £4 minimum charge (whichever is the greater amount).
For next day mail delivery is available Monday to Friday. All requests must be processed prior to 12 midday

2.One hour Airport collection from a foreign exchange outlet such as Travellex or Thomas Cook.
By pre-ordering your foreign currency the 1.5% exchange levied by the bureaus is waived

Can I use my Card to get cash from an ATM?

PIN numbers, to withdraw cash from Automatic Teller Machines, will be provided automatically on application for the Card. If you have forgotten your number you can call 0870 1900 011. The Card is accepted at thousands of ATMs around the world please click here  for the ATM closest to your required destination

Please note that all cash advances attract a fee of 4% or £4 whichever is greater. Funds drawn at overseas machines will be drawn in local currency and converted to Pounds Sterling at the Diners Club nominated daily rate.

When can I expect to receive my renewal card?

The month prior to expiry date. The card will automatically be sent to your preferred mailing address

Do I have an established spending limit?

The Cards have no pre-set spending limit. Diners Club will monitor expenditure patterns so it is prudent to forewarn Diners Club of unusual expenditure on your Card.

What if I want the foreign currency to be delivered to an address that is not the same as my statement address?

You will be required to send a fax to Diners Club Customer Service confirming this request. Please note that cut off time for next mail delivery of your foreign currency is 12 midday.

What is Corporate Liability?

When the Corporate authorises the Individuals’ application it is agreeing that the Corporate is totally responsible for the balance payment of the account.

What is centralised billing?

An itemised statement is sent on a monthly basis to a nominated person/s at the corporate address.

What is individual billing?

An itemised statement is sent on a monthly basis to the person who has applied for the card. This can be sent either to the home or the work address, as nominated by the Cardmember.

Compatible Liability Options = Individual, Joint & Several or Corporate Liability

What is Individual liability?

The individual who applies for the card is responsible for balance payment of the account.

What is Joint and Several Liability?

Both the individual and the company who has authorised the application are equally liable for balance payment of the account

What is strip billing?

An itemised statement is sent on a monthly basis to the person who has applied for the card.

Purchases such as air, hotel and car hire are nominated to be paid directly by the Corporate. Simultaneously, these same purchases will be visible on the Cardmembers statement however their total will not form part of the balance due at the end of the month. That total will be sent on a separate statement to the Corporate for direct settlement with Diners Club. The liability for these purchases then becomes that of the Corporates.

The individual's statement can be sent either to the home or the work address, as nominated by the Card member and the Corporate statement will be forwarded to a nominated person/s at the corporate address.
